![A return slip beside a per-item threshold line and a gift address](/blog/covers/amazon-europe-refund-no-return-buyer-check.webp)

Public list pages have discussed a refund-without-return option for FBA orders on five European Amazon sites. Read that as a buyer prompt, not as a rule on your order. A refund that lets you keep the item is one path. It is not a promise that every line qualifies, and it is not a substitute for a return you may still need. StoreAtlas stays on the shopping side: open the merchant in the [store directory](/), compare what you can actually read in [deals](/deals), and read the threshold, the return entry, and the ship-to address before you pay for a holiday gift.

This note does not invent a coupon percentage, a sticker price, a euro amount, or a count of transit days. A figure quoted in a headline is not the figure on your line. Read the per-item threshold the order page prints, if it prints one. If it does not, the threshold is unknown. This note does not tell a seller how to set a program or how to stock a warehouse.

Neighbor reading stays practical. The [returns and ship-to guides](/topics/returns-ship-to-guides) cover delivery questions after an order exists. The [blog](/blog) holds other buyer notes. A store card on [/s](/s) is where you match a merchant name before a seasonal price in [deals](/deals) looks settled. None of these pages decide whether your line qualifies.

## A refund path and a return path are different

Shoppers hear "refund without sending it back" and stop reading. The page may still offer three different outcomes, and only one of them may be open for this line.

- A refund that lets you keep the item, if the page says this line qualifies and you accept that path.
- A physical return to an address the page names, with a label the policy describes.
- A refusal, a partial refund, or a request for photos, if the page says the line does not qualify for the keep-it path.

Write which outcome the page offers before you rely on it. A help-center article about a program is not the same as the button on your order. If your order page is silent, mark the keep-it path as unavailable for this line. Do not fill the silence with a headline.

The keep-it path and the right to send the item back can both exist, or only one can exist, or neither can. Read both. A page that offers a refund if you keep the item does not, by itself, close the door on a return. A page that offers a return does not, by itself, offer a keep-it refund. If you need the item to leave the house, confirm the physical return is still offered after you look at the keep-it option. If you need the money and the item is low value to you, confirm the keep-it path is actually offered on this line, not only described in a news line.

## The threshold is on the order, not in the headline

List pages have mentioned a per-item threshold. That mention is a reason to look. It is not a number you can paste onto a gift.

On the order, read:

1. Whether a threshold is printed for this line, and the words around it. Category, condition, and seller type can all limit the path.
2. Whether the line is fulfilled by the marketplace network the headline discussed, or by a third-party shipper. A path described for one fulfillment type does not move onto the other by itself.
3. Whether the item is a holiday gift with a different ship-to country than the account country. A gift address can change which site, which language, and which return desk you are dealing with.
4. Who may start the request: the paying account, or also the person who received the parcel.
5. What you give up if you accept a keep-it refund. Some flows treat that choice as final for this line. Read the sentence. If you cannot tell, ask once in writing and keep the reply.

Do not convert a foreign headline figure into your currency and call the result your threshold. Do not stack a coupon assumption on top. If the review step does not show a markdown, the markdown is not yours.

## Five sites are not one screen

A headline can name five European sites and still leave you on one site. Open the site where the order lives. A rule you saw on a neighboring country site does not travel with your account just because both sites share a brand header.

Shoppers in France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy, and elsewhere should read the page in front of them. Portugal may not be one of the sites a headline grouped. A shopper there, or a shopper buying from Japan or Korea into a European address, still uses the same method: name the site, name the fulfillment line, and read the path this order offers.

Currency and language switches are part of the check. A translated help page can describe a program the button on your order does not show. Believe the button. A country switcher can change the words and still leave the parcel's return address in another country. Believe the address.

Black Friday dates on the home page do not set the refund window. Copy any date the order page prints. If the page says only "holiday" with no date, treat the sentence as incomplete.

## Gifts: the address can change the path

Holiday orders add a person who was not at the checkout. Read the ship-to country on the order, not the country you live in, when those differ.

- If the recipient must hand the parcel to a carrier, a keep-it refund is a different offer from a return they cannot start.
- If only your account can open the request, tell the recipient before the gift is opened. A delivery scan is not authority for them to dispose of the item or to ship it.
- If the page says the keep-it path depends on item condition, read whose description of condition counts. Your note and the recipient's note may both be asked for. Save photos if the page asks for them. Do not invent a grade the page did not ask for.
- If two items ship to the same person from two sellers, you may have two paths. A keep-it offer on one line does not cover the other line.

Use the [store directory](/) when you want a merchant that already states a return path for the destination country. Compare that path with the marketplace line. They are different offers. A calmer return on a brand site can be the better gift even when the marketplace line shows a keep-it option you are not sure you can use.

## What not to copy from a roundup

- Do not copy a headline threshold onto your line. Read the order.
- Do not assume every European site, or every seller on a site, joined the path because the headline said five sites.
- Do not treat a keep-it refund as permission to skip the return text. You may still need the physical path.
- Do not invent a coupon rate, a sticker price, or a count of transit days.
- Do not ask a seller how to enroll inventory in a program. The buyer task is to read the path on the order you pay.

## A method you can repeat

1. Name the site and the order. Confirm you are looking at the order you will pay or have paid, not a general help article.
2. Copy the fulfillment line. Note whether it matches the type the headline discussed.
3. Copy any per-item threshold the page prints. If none is printed, write "unknown."
4. Write whether a keep-it refund is offered, whether a physical return is still offered, and who can start each one.
5. Read the ship-to country and whether a gift recipient can act.
6. Compare one merchant in the [store directory](/) and the offers you can see in [deals](/deals). Prefer the checkout whose return path you can point to.
7. Save the screen that shows the path you accepted.

If the page will not say whether you may keep the item, do not assume you may. Leaving the line is a complete outcome.

## After the parcel arrives

Check the order page again before you dispose of anything. Sale weeks change buttons. The screen you saved at checkout can differ from the screen on delivery day. Follow the screen that applies now, and keep the earlier screen so you can show what you were told.

If you accept a keep-it refund, follow the on-screen steps and stop there. Do not also ship the item unless the page tells you to. If you choose a physical return, use the label and the address that return flow prints. Keep proof of dispatch. Do not send the parcel to a return address you found on a different site.

If support later quotes a different threshold or says the path was never available, answer with the screen you saved. Do not ask the seller to rewrite a stocking plan. This note does not cover how a warehouse is filled. The buyer task is to know which path your line actually offered, and which path you accepted.

## Questions

The questions under this note cover thresholds, gift addresses, and the difference between a keep-it refund and a physical return.
