![Studio tights and Airbrush athleisure from official fitness storefronts](/blog/covers/lululemon-vs-aloyoga.webp)

Lululemon vs Alo Yoga is a fabric-and-fit decision inside athleisure, not a logo decision. [Lululemon](/s/lululemon) splits studio softness and weekday trousers into named fabrics, Nulu and Warpstreme among them, on [shop.lululemon.com](https://shop.lululemon.com). [Alo Yoga](/s/aloyoga) builds a large part of the women’s legging wall on Airbrush, a medium-compression matte fabric cut for studio, court, and street, on [aloyoga.com](https://www.aloyoga.com). Choose Lululemon when you want a low-impact buttery tight with a published fiber spec, or an ABC trouser with a gusset and a wrinkle-resistant cloth. Choose Alo when you want Airbrush’s smoothing waist and a short alpha size run, and you will read the inseam by size before you assume every pair is 28 inches. StoreAtlas files both as stores on the [fitness hub](/c/fitness) and the [yoga](/t/yoga) tag. This note is not a Best of ranking.

[Alo Yoga vs Gymshark](/blog/alo-yoga-vs-gymshark) is the training-brand comparison if the cart is actually about lifting. [Alo Yoga vs Beyond Yoga](/blog/aloyoga-vs-beyond-yoga) stays closer to soft studio leggings. The category frame is [fitness storefront notes](/blog/fitness-shopify-storefront-notes). Size language on both sites is easy to misread, which is why [size charts before you buy](/blog/size-charts-dtc-before-you-buy) belongs in the same pass as the fabric block.

There is no shopping-job page for this pair yet — other shopping tasks already filed live on the [jobs index](/jobs). Both brands also live as files in the [store directory](/).

## Who each storefront fits

Lululemon fits the person who buys a fabric the way other people buy a last. The Align No Line High-Rise Pant 28" page describes a high rise whose full length is meant to sit at the ankle, a hidden waistband pocket for a card or a key, and a front-rise seam that has been removed for a smooth line. The use line is specific: low-impact work such as yoga, and the days you want the pant to feel weightless. The fabric block is Nulu: buttery soft, four-way stretch, sweat-wicking, breathable, with Lycra elastane for stretch and shape retention. The body composition on that page is 80% nylon and 20% Lycra elastane. Care is machine wash cold. The size guide maps numeric sizes to alpha sizes. In the excerpt, numeric 0 is XXXS with a body waist of 21½ inches and a hip of 31½ inches, and numeric 4 is XS with a waist of 24–25 inches and a hip of 34–35 inches. Measure the smallest part of the waist and the widest part of the hip. That chart is the start of the run. Open the size range on the product you are buying.

The other half of the brand, for this comparison, is not another legging. The ABC Relaxed-Fit 5 Pocket Pant page is Warpstreme: smooth, stretchy, wrinkle-resistant, with shape retention through the day. ABC is the brand’s anti-ball-crushing gusset, an ergonomic panel meant to take tension off the crotch. Body fabric on that page is 53% elastomultiester and 47% recycled polyester. Pockets include a phone pocket and a hidden zipper. Inseams are sold as separate lengths, including 30, 32, and 34 inches, in relaxed, classic, and slim fits. Use the size guide, not a fit photo.

Alo fits the person who wants one legging fabric to leave the house in. The High-Waist Airbrush Legging in black is listed with a 28-inch inseam and a true-to-size fit at medium compression, described as smoothing and sculpting. The size run on that page is XXS (00–0), XS (2–4), S (4–6), M (8–10), L (12–14), and XL (16–18). Inseam is not one number for every size: XXS, XS, and S are 28 inches, and M, L, and XL are 28.5 inches. Fabric on that colorway is 87% nylon and 13% elastane. The fabric block calls Airbrush matte, cottony, medium compression, and four-way stretch, and points it at coffee, yoga, and the airport as well as a workout. A 5'9" model in a medium is one body, not a grade rule.

The fiber line can change inside Airbrush. The bootcut page is 87% nylon / 13% elastane with a 32-inch inseam. Fast Track lists side pockets, 28 or 28½ inch inseams, and 87% polyester / 13% elastane. Kick-Back inseams run 32½ to 33 inches. Read the fabrication block on the color in the cart.

## Compression, pockets, and the size system

Align’s page says low-impact and weightless. It does not sell itself as a high-impact training tight. Warpstreme is a trouser cloth with a gusset, numeric waist sizes, and a chosen inseam, not a second legging. Airbrush’s black high-waist page says medium compression, true to size, for pilates, pickleball, and time at home. Fast Track prints side pockets. The plain high-waist page does not lead with a pocket.

Alo’s alpha sizes overlap ready-to-wear numbers: XS is 2–4 and S is 4–6, so a street size 4 can sit in either. Align’s chart is a measured waist and hip. The medium Airbrush inseam is half an inch longer than the small on the high-waist page. Align lengths are stated in the product name. ABC lengths are separate SKUs. The bootcut inseam is 32 inches and the Kick-Back runs 32½ to 33. Align is machine wash cold. Airbrush pages say machine wash cold and tumble dry low. A washed return is outside both policies below.

## Returns, final sale, and the quality promise

Lululemon’s return policy accepts purchases within 30 days, by mail or in a store, and not at outlet stores. The product has to be unworn and unwashed, with hang tags, in original packaging if that applies, and with proof of purchase. Returns stay in the country of purchase. Gift cards are final sale. “We Made Too Much” sale items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged unless you are a member, which is a membership exception printed on the policy page. Customized product is final sale. The returns help page says the process is free, online purchases can come back online or in store, and exchanges are an in-store job. Shoes are the exception that can be worn, and they still have to come back in the box within 30 days. Refunds go to the original card, a gift card, or as local law requires. Inspection can reject a return. Excessive returns can get future returns refused.

The Quality Promise is not the return policy. Lululemon will look at an item that is not performing as intended within one year of purchase, case by case, with proof of purchase. Ordinary wear, personal preference, misuse, and accidents are out. Alterations count only if lululemon did them. A preference return (“I wanted more compression”) is a 30-day unworn return. A seam that fails in month four is the quality conversation. Product pages advertise free shipping, and some sale pages add that members can return for credit. Read the banner on the item. Final-sale marks are doing real work.

Alo accepts unworn, unwashed, tagged items within 30 days, with proof of purchase. US orders get a prepaid label. The page both says exchanges are not offered and that merchandise can come back for exchange, credit, or refund. Use the portal label. Refunds take 2–4 business days after the warehouse receives the package. International customers pay return shipping and email internationalreturns@aloyoga.com. The banner advertises complimentary US shipping and returns.

Both windows are 30 days and both require an unworn, tagged garment. A We Made Too Much piece can be final for a guest and returnable for credit for a member. Alo’s US label is prepaid. The international label is yours. A legging that has been to class is past both change-of-mind policies. The [size-chart note](/blog/size-charts-dtc-before-you-buy) is the worksheet for waist, hip, and inseam.

## Questions

### Is Alo Airbrush the same kind of legging as lululemon Align?

Align’s Nulu page is a low-impact, weightless, four-way-stretch tight in 80% nylon and 20% elastane, with a hidden waistband pocket on the No Line 28-inch pant. Airbrush’s high-waist page is medium compression, matte, smoothing, in 87% nylon and 13% elastane on the black style, with an inseam that changes by size. Use Align when the brief is softness and low impact. Use Airbrush when the brief is a hold-you-in waist and a legging you will also wear out. Check Fast Track’s fiber line separately if that is the colorway in the cart.

### How do the size charts convert?

They do not convert by the street-size number alone. Alo prints XXS as 00–0 through XL as 16–18, and the middle sizes overlap, with S listed as 4–6 and XS as 2–4. Lululemon’s Align guide prints a measured waist and hip next to numeric sizes and tells you to measure the smallest part of the waist and the widest part of the hip. A ready-to-wear 4 can land in more than one Alo alpha. Measure, then read the inseam attached to that alpha. ABC pants add a second choice: waist size plus a 30, 32, or 34-inch length on the pages that offer those SKUs.

### What happens if the leggings do not fit?

Both brands publish a 30-day window for unworn, unwashed items with tags. Lululemon’s mail and store returns are free under the policy page, exchanges happen in store, sale items in We Made Too Much are final unless you are a member, and a performance failure inside a year can go through the Quality Promise with proof of purchase. Alo covers the US return label and does not cover international return shipping. Worn-to-class items are outside both change-of-mind rules. [Alo Yoga vs Beyond Yoga](/blog/aloyoga-vs-beyond-yoga) is the next fit comparison if Airbrush’s compression is the open question and lululemon’s trouser line is not the other option.
