How to check shipping and returns on a Shopify store: open the official locale you will actually pay on, find the shipping table and the return window before the cart, and treat a hero image as merchandising until those two rules are visible. Region, thresholds, duties, and “final sale” are part of the product. StoreAtlas will not invent a rate.

This is a pre-cart skill. Pair it with [how to evaluate a Shopify store](/blog/how-to-evaluate-a-shopify-store). Brand files stay on the listing — [Brooklinen](/s/brooklinen) for a set that may be US-first, [Glossier](/s/glossier) for a kit that may not ship as the homepage still, [Away](/s/away) for a warranty that follows the storefront you paid.

## Where brands hide the rule

Common places: a footer shipping link, a locale or country switcher, a tab on the product page, a banner that only appears after you enter a postcode. None of those are automatically dishonest. The failure is a first screen that implies universal delivery.

If you cannot find a region or a window in two or three clicks, treat availability as unknown. Do not let a lifestyle photo close the question. A store that puts the rule next to Buy now is finishing the product. A store that buries “final sale” only in a checkbox at pay is unfinished.

[Casper](/s/casper) and other freight objects make delivery the object as much as foam. A compressed mattress is not a tee-rate parcel. Read the official haul and trial language. We will not invent a night count.

## Region is part of the product

A US bedding bundle is not the same object for an international shopper. A beauty kit on a .com homepage may not ship to your country. That is not you failing to get the brand. It is logistics.

When we write a listing note, an honest limit often is the shipping story. When we write this blog note, we still send you to the official table. Open the country you will actually use, then read the table again. Locale switchers are a tell: assume the story changes with them. Do not copy a rate from a screenshot.

[July](/s/july) and [Monos](/s/monos) make regional storefronts the contract on luggage. A US checkout is not an AU warranty. [Lorna Jane](/s/lorna-jane) and other apparel brands split AU and US as different carts. Believe the host in the address bar.

## Thresholds, clubs, and guest prices

Free-shipping thresholds and member prices change the tile you thought you understood. If the guest price only appears at checkout, you were shopping a fake catalog. Membership grocery and club themes should state the split early.

[Thrive Market](/s/thrivemarket) states a club door as merchandising. [Fabletics](/s/fabletics) makes VIP versus guest the homepage problem. [MeUndies](/s/meundies) treats a print restock as optional cadence. Read [Shopify membership store vs guest checkout](/blog/shopify-membership-store-vs-guest-checkout) when every tile has two numbers.

A subscribe-and-save checkbox on a normal PDP is a different object from a grocery club. A themed box is a third. Mixing those folders is how people bounce. [BarkBox](/s/barkbox) sells a plan, not a single chew you can name for next month.

## Returns without a scavenger hunt

A usable storefront puts the return window near the buy action or on a single shipping-and-returns page linked from the footer. Intimate and final-sale language belongs where you can see it before pay. Jewelry often carries a stricter window — [Mejuri (slug mejuri)](/s/mejuri) is a stack shop, not a costume wall; still read metal and returns on mejuri.com.

We do not score return generosity. We notice whether the rule is findable. That is design, not a trophy. A long window you cannot find is not a longer window.

Freight returns are a different product from a parcel. [Herman Miller](/s/herman-miller-store) and furniture listings in this directory are not tee-rate carts. Confirm the official delivery path.

## A short check you can reuse

Open the locale you will pay on.

Find ship-to countries or a postcode tool.

Find the return window and any final-sale line.

Find membership or threshold language if a tile price looks too cheap.

Then open the official PDP for the SKU. We will not invent a restock, a duty, or a rate. Confirm on the official host the day you buy.
