Basics and dress-led apparel from official fashion storefronts

Everlane vs Reformation splits a basics wall from a dress calendar. Everlane sells women’s and men’s tees, denim, and knits, and prints fiber, factory, and a US return window on the product page at everlane.com. Reformation leads with seasonal dresses, then tops, denim, shoes, and occasion edits, and prints fit, fiber, care, and a RefScale carbon line on the product page at thereformation.com. Choose Everlane for a garment you reorder by cloth and fit name. Choose Reformation for a dress whose silhouette, size run, and final-sale flag you read before the color. StoreAtlas files both as stores on the fashion hub and the apparel tag. This note is not a Best of ranking.

There is no shopping-job page for this pair yet — other shopping tasks already filed live on the jobs index. Both brands also live as files in the store directory.

How to shop fashion Shopify stores asks whether the first screen sells fiber, a collection clock, or care-and-wash. Everlane’s homepage sells materials, factories, and certifications. Reformation’s homepage sells a dress shop, a wedding edit, and a date-night rail.

Who each storefront fits

Everlane fits shoppers who name a tee, a jean, or a knit by cloth and who read the materials line and the factory city before the wash. The catalog is a women’s and men’s core wall, with seasonal color, a sale rail, and stores you can visit. A weekly dress drop is a different job.

Reformation fits shoppers who want a named dress silhouette and who will use the size guide, the model’s measurements, and the fiber line as the product. The public homepage is a women’s calendar: dresses, date night, weddings, then tops, sweaters, jeans, shoes, and bags. Check final sale, pre-order, or deadstock before the still. A permanent basics wall is a different storefront.

What each assortment is selling

On Everlane, the useful nouns are the fit names. The Box-Cut Tee in Essential Cotton is the relaxed, slightly cropped tee the wall is built around. Jeans are separate objects: a Cheeky, a Column, a Way-High, and a Cheeky Hourglass for a curvier waist-to-hip, each with its own rise and inseam. Men’s and women’s charts share a host and do not share a body.

On Reformation, the useful noun is the dress, then the occasion. A silk charmeuse mini and a deadstock nylon knit are both called dresses, and they differ in lining, care, and how long the cloth exists. Denim, tops, shoes, and bags sit behind that rail. Deadstock — aging, excess, or over-ordered fabric — can sell through because the cloth is finite. Vintage, lingerie, and hosiery are separate return buckets.

Fabric, factory notes, and the claim on the page

Everlane’s transparency, on pages open in late September 2026, is a materials block, a factory line, and certification chips. The Box-Cut Tee listed 100% organic cotton, machine-wash care, “Made in Kandy, Sri Lanka,” a See the Factory link, and chips for organic cotton, cleaner chemistry, and factory. Jean pages the same week listed 98% organic cotton and 2% elastane, with rise and leg opening quoted for one size. Screenshot the percentage and the factory city. The fabric glossary on the same host defines the longer fiber names.

Reformation’s transparency is fiber, care, an origin caveat, and RefScale. The Kline Silk Dress said fully lined 19mm silk charmeuse, 100% silk, dry clean only, and “sustainably made in USA,” with a note that the country is the latest run and older units may differ. Its module said about 32 lbs of CO2, about 24% less than most clothes in the U.S. The same week the Emerson knit was deadstock nylon-spandex, wash cold, with a different CO2 figure. Read the module on the SKU you pay. A homepage report does not override that care line.

How to read a product page keeps the first decision on the spec, then the color. On Everlane that spec is fiber percent, fit name, and factory. On Reformation it is silhouette, fiber, care, the RefScale line, and the final-sale flag.

Size, fit, and which chart belongs to this SKU

Everlane prints the model and a size-guide link above the bag. On the Box-Cut Tee the model was 5′8″ in an XS, and the fit lines said relaxed and slightly cropped. Jeans use a numeric waist and a separate inseam: ankle, regular, sometimes tall. The Cheeky Hourglass is a different product from the Original Cheeky. Everlane’s size help says the chart is a reference for the intended fit on that product: slim, relaxed, or oversized.

Reformation prints a fit sentence and the model’s body. The Kline page said fitted at the bodice and waist with a relaxed skirt. The model was a size 0 at 5′11″, with waist, hip, and bust listed. Sizes on that dress ran 0 through 12. Other dresses use an alpha run. Petite labels and extended sizes, 1X through 3X, appear on some collections only.

Size charts before you buy applies to both. Measure the waist, hip, bust, or inseam that chart asks for, the day you buy. An Everlane jean waist does not become a Reformation dress size. A new fabric name is a new garment.

Shipping and returns cues on the product page

The modules under the button use different clocks. The figures below are from late September 2026.

Everlane’s tee page says free shipping on U.S. orders over $125 and US returns within 30 days of the ship date. Sale SKUs add no returns or exchanges on final sale. Eligible pieces are unwashed, tags on, shoes in the box. Gift cards, unpackaged underwear, and final sale are out. US mail listed a $7 fee, waived for store credit. Stores and Return Bars are free. Outside the US the help page listed 45 days from the ship date, with duties refunded only in named countries. Shipping already paid is not refunded.

Reformation’s Kline dress showed a final-sale flag above the sizes at full price, a pre-order note that payment can process before the item ships, and free shipping. The US homepage said free shipping on everything. The help center counts 30 days from delivery, unworn, tags on, scanned by the carrier or returned in store. US mail listed an $8 fee per order, waived for an in-store return, Instant RefCredit, an exchange, or loyalty members who keep one item. An exchange is once, for another size or color of the same style. Swim needs its sanitary tag. A garment bag goes back with the piece. Vintage, lingerie, hosiery, apothecary, and final sale sit outside a remorse return.

Returns before you buy asks for the window, who pays postage, and whether the clock starts at ship or at delivery. Screenshot the module and the policy page the day you pay.

What to confirm the day you buy

Everlane: fiber percentage, factory city, fit name, whether the inseam is its own choice, alpha or numeric waist, and whether the module says 30 days from the ship date or final sale.

Reformation: silhouette, model measurements, numeric or alpha or petite or extended, fiber and care, the RefScale figure on this SKU, and any final-sale or pre-order flag sitting next to free shipping.

Both: checkout has to accept your address on the locale you will use, and a wrong size has to be returnable with the tags still on.

Questions

Everlane vs Reformation for everyday dresses
Reformation is the dress storefront. Start on [thereformation.com](https://www.thereformation.com) for a date, a wedding, or a season, and read fit, fiber, care, and the final-sale flag. Everlane is the first screen for a tee, a jean with a named rise, or a knit you expect to reorder.
Why do the return windows feel different?
Everlane’s US module counts 30 days from the ship date. The help page lengthens that outside the US and adds a mail fee. Reformation counts 30 days from the delivery date, and a dress can be final sale at full price. The figure on the day you buy is the one that applies.
Where do size and final sale show up?
On the product page, before the bag. Everlane puts the model, a size-guide link, and a final-sale sentence on sale SKUs. Reformation puts the fit sentence, the model’s measurements, the size run, and a final-sale flag. A waitlist is inventory.
Does StoreAtlas rank Everlane vs Reformation?
No. This note is not a Best of ranking. [Fashion storefront notes](/blog/fashion-shopify-storefront-notes) tell you how to read the first screen.
