Shopping bags lined up after a store visit

Subscription box Shopify stores ask you to pick a cadence, not a single SKU. The product is the plan: price, frequency, what kind of box. This month’s theme is a teaser that will move. A page that hides tiers inside a normal toy grid is hiding the decision.

We do not score boxes. We do not invent next month’s contents. Brand files stay on the store page; this is the category habit — including subscription tags when we use them.

Tiers as the merchandising object

On a well-built subscription theme, you can compare plans without opening three PDPs. That is the win. If you need a known chew, a known shade, or a specific refill, a surprise box will frustrate you. If you want a recurring shipment, read the tier table first, then the current cycle on the official site.

Box vs replenishment vs club

A themed box is not the same as a grocery club with member pricing, and not the same as a subscribe-and-save refill. Clubs make every tile a two-layer price. Boxes make the plan the SKU. Refills make the cadence a checkbox on a normal PDP.

Mixing those in one mental folder is how people bounce. See also guest price vs member price on the evaluate checklist, and membership grocery store-reads when we have them.

What the homepage will not lock

Themes, extras, and “this month” photography change by cycle. Treat them as mood, not inventory. Shipping regions and pause rules are the contract. Find them before checkout.

How we file them

If the public site is a brand homepage selling a plan, it is a store listing. We describe the clock and the gate. We do not paste a catalog of past boxes. Use how to evaluate a Shopify store for the shared checks; use this note when the first screen is clearly a cadence.

Pause and skip are part of the SKU

A plan you cannot pause is a different product from a plan you can skip a month. Find those controls before you treat the illustrated theme as the purchase. Official site for the current terms; this page for the reading habit.
