17TRACK is a public paste-and-track lookup across carriers. AfterShip is the branded tracking page and notification stack merchants install—and often the returns portal too. Use 17TRACK when you only have a number; use AfterShip when the brand’s email link is your source of truth.

AfterShip vs 17TRACK · Who is this for (and who is it not)?

You are in the right place if you have a tracking number and no brand page, or if you run a storefront and are choosing a post-purchase app — the tracking page, the email or SMS, and sometimes the return. You are not the reader if you wanted a carrier homepage (order tracking embeds the official 17TRACK widget for a paste-in lookup) or a scoreboard of “best Shopify tracking apps.”

StoreAtlas will not invent a fee, a carrier count, or a rank. Official pages change. Read the host you will actually pay.

A lookup and a suite can share carriers and still be different rooms. Mixing them is how a shopper lands in a sales page, or a merchant pastes a number into a tool that will not brand the page.

The three-way note 17TRACK vs AfterShip vs TrackingMore adds the developer-shaped third object. The DTC shortlist Shopify tracking apps for DTC adds ParcelPanel. This page stays on lookup versus branded suite — including the notification and return surfaces AfterShip merchandizes on the same host.

When does 17TRACK fit?

17TRACK is the public multi-carrier form. You paste a number when the brand page is missing, the parcel changed hands, or support needs a second window. StoreAtlas embeds that official widget on order tracking. We do not store the number.

It fits a shopper, a warehouse desk, or an editor checking a carrier hop. It does not fit a merchant who needs the tracking URL to look like the storefront, or a team that wants webhooks as the product.

Coverage and the public UI vary by region and carrier. Pricing, if you outgrow the public page, lives on 17track.net. We will not paste a plan table here.

A shopper who received a short-link SMS that asks for a customs fee should still paste the number on an official tracker, not on the short link. The official storefront versus lookalike note is the domain habit. 17TRACK is the paste habit when the brand page is gone.

When does AfterShip fit?

AfterShip merchandizes branded tracking pages, shipment notifications, and returns as a suite. The job is the shopper staying on a page that still looks like the brand after they click “where is my order.”

It fits a merchant who already has a storefront and wants that room after checkout. It does not fit a one-off paste with no account, and it is not a substitute for reading the carrier’s own page when the suite is not installed.

Pricing often scales with shipment volume. Confirm the current plan and carrier list on aftership.com the day you subscribe. This directory does not operate AfterShip accounts.

AfterShip is also a returns-notification stack, not only a map. If the sentence you are buying is “the shopper starts a return on a page that still looks like us,” you are no longer on a public paste. That job sits on AfterShip’s returns surfaces — confirm the product name on aftership.com — and on the pairwise portal note AfterShip Returns vs Narvar. If several return jobs are in the decision, use how Shopify returns apps differ.

When is the notification the product?

A tracking page and a tracking email are not the same object. 17TRACK answers “what is this number.” AfterShip answers “keep the shopper on our URL after they click the email.”

Name the sentence before you open a pricing page.

- If the sentence is “I have a number and no brand page,” start on 17TRACK or order tracking. - If the sentence is “I want the shopper to stay on a page that looks like my store,” start on AfterShip and confirm volume pricing on aftership.com. - If the sentence is “I want the email or SMS to be ours, with a branded click-through,” that is still the AfterShip room — confirm notification products on the official host. It is not a 17TRACK job. - If the sentence is “I want events in our software,” start on TrackingMore and confirm quota on trackingmore.com. AfterShip also has developer surfaces — confirm on the official host rather than assuming the suite is the only door. - If the sentence is “I need the shopper to start a return without a support ticket,” you have left the lookup compare. Use the returns notes.

A branded notification that deep-links to a public paste is a mixed room. It can work for a support desk. It fails as a brand post-purchase if the click lands on a third-party form with no store chrome.

Where does TrackingMore fit?

TrackingMore is the optional third file: an API-first multi-carrier tracker. Use it when the product you need is the feed, not a public form and not a branded shopper page. Official site: trackingmore.com. Confirm quota and carriers there. Related files are 17TRACK and AfterShip — other listings, not a podium. When the feed is in the decision, use the three-way note 17TRACK vs AfterShip vs TrackingMore.

How do you choose without a score?

Write one sentence. Then open one official host.

A lookup, a suite, and a feed can share a carrier list and still be different rooms. We will not invent a winner. We will not paste a fee. Away merchandises a warranty locale on the official site — that is a store file, not a tracker score. Brooklinen merchandises a set whose ship-to is part of the product. Pair those rooms with how to check shipping and returns on a Shopify store when the table is the object, and with this note when the post-purchase app is the object.

If you landed here looking for a brand shoe site, start on stores or how to evaluate a Shopify store. Tools are utilities beside a storefront. Notes explain the job. They do not rank the shelf.

StoreAtlas lives at storeatlas.cc. It is not storeatlas.net and not HelloAtlas at helloatlas.io. We do not run 17TRACK, AfterShip, or TrackingMore accounts. Visit links go to official hosts.

What is this comparison not?

It is not a Best of tracking apps. It is not a 10-point score. It is not a claim that StoreAtlas runs 17TRACK, AfterShip, or TrackingMore. Visit links go to the official hosts. Confirm coverage on the page you will actually open.
