Stores vs tools vs platforms vs notes
Updated
StoreAtlas editors

StoreAtlas vs a single “Shopify directory” story is a category error. The public site is four shelves: stores, tools, platforms, and notes. Mixing them into one edited-store list is how a reader clicks a mall, an app, or an essay and wonders why it is not a brand homepage.
This site lives at storeatlas.cc. It is not storeatlas.net. It is not HelloAtlas at helloatlas.io. Those are other products. We will not invent an inbox or a score to prove the point.
Stores
A store file is a brand homepage we could open. The listing has a short English note and a Visit button to the official URL. The canonical path is /s/{slug}. Allbirds is a brand room. Mejuri is a jewelry homepage we file under the catalog slug mejvah — the brand name is still Mejuri.
We do not scrape SKUs into the store file. We do not draw stars. Listing rules live on About.
Tools
A tool page is a utility we open beside a storefront — email, tracking, analytics, a Shopify app. The page links to the official product. We do not operate that account. A tool is not a store and not a marketplace.
If you landed here looking for a brand shoe site, you are in the wrong room. Start on stores or how to evaluate a Shopify store.
Platforms
A platform is a demand channel: many sellers, shared search, rules the brand does not fully own. Amazon is the loud example. Mixing a mall into the store grid is how people click a seller tile and expect a materials story.
Read Shopify storefront vs Amazon when the URL might be a channel. Platforms live at /platforms.
Notes
Notes are method and how-to-shop essays. They answer “how do you read this kind of page?” They do not republish a store blurb under a new H1 to steal a brand query. They do not publish Best of or Top 10.
Use how to evaluate a Shopify store for the shared checks. Use how to read a Shopify product page once you have a SKU. Use How to check shipping and returns on a Shopify store before you treat a hero image as a contract.
What this comparison is not
It is not a ranking of the four shelves. It is not a claim that StoreAtlas is Shopify Inc. It is not storeatlas.net and not HelloAtlas. Confirm a brand, a tool, or a channel on the official host the day you use it.
Product cards on /products are official merchant product pages from stores already in the directory. That grid is SKUs, not a second store list.
Questions
- What are the four StoreAtlas shelves?
- Stores are brand homepages. Tools are utilities we open beside a storefront. Platforms are demand channels. Notes are method essays — not rankings.
- Is StoreAtlas the same as storeatlas.net or HelloAtlas?
- No. This site is storeatlas.cc. It is not storeatlas.net and not HelloAtlas at helloatlas.io.
- Do you publish Best of lists?
- No. Notes explain how we file an object and who it suits. We do not invent star scores or a Top 10.
